Another longtime Denver-area restaurant, this one in Englewood, is closing. The beloved Mexican food spot, El Tepehuan, plans to shutter on Dec. 31 as its owner, Graciela Corral, retires, according to an announcement shared by her son, Miguel Corral. The restaurant, endearingly called El Tep by locals, dates back to 1978 when immigrant Jose David Corral of Sinaloa, Mexico, used his hard-earned money to “achieve his dream to open his own business,” according to the restaurant’s website. He named it El Tepehuan as an homage to his mother’s indigenous tribe.Related ArticlesRestaurants, Food and Drink | Snooze opening its 13th Colorado location next month Restaurants, Food and Drink | New Jersey native opening bagel shop in former Denver Bread Co. space Restaurants, Food and Drink | Tom’s Starlight has closed; the historic Colfax location is still for lease Restaurants, Food and Drink | Annette’s award-winn...10 of the most festive pop-up bars near Denver serving up Christmas spirits

AMR Finds Familiar Faces: Underground house artist, producer and composer A.M.R. grew up around music from an early age.“My dad owned a studio in Qatar for recording bands and commercials and he himself was a passionate guitarist, so being around that space built a foundation for me,” he says. “But what started it all was discovering my first DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) through my uncle, who too was another musician in the family. He gave me his demo CD of FL Studio when I was a kid, and I’ve been producing ever since. Things got more serious for me after releasing a few records and getting supported by world-star DJs, and from then I knew there was something worth pursuing.”Today, A.M.R. describes his sound as house music with classical undertones.“My early fascination with film scores greatly influenced my sound and as music technology and plugins advanced and became more accessible to producers, those classical influences found their way into my...Analyzing Avon’s Entry Into The CBD Market — A Spotlight Review On Avon’s CBD Creams

Q: There’s a dangerous three-way intersection in the Foothill Crossing Shopping Center in Los Altos on Homestead Road. I’ve almost been hit there a few times.People don’t stop at the intersection, which is between two parking areas and many shops, so I’m not sure who is responsible for the signage. Three corners meet adjacent to the Red Pepper Bar and Grill, 2 B Fit, and the Trader Joe’s parking lots. Two have the word STOP painted on the road at the intersection, the third is not marked. Many people drive through this intersection without stopping. To make this a safe intersection, all three corners should have stop signs instead of just the word stop painted on the road in two places. Who should I contact about this issue?Thank you for writing a very practical and informative column and for all of the help that you provide.— Janet WarringtonA: Start with the Los Altos Public Works Department, Engineering. In the latest bizarre twist of the Oakland A’s exodus from the Bay Area, Alameda County officials claim that the team has not yet announced its plans to leave town. The determination allows the A’s to postpone payment on $45 million it owes taxpayers for the team’s purchase of the county’s half-interest in the Coliseum. The Coliseum is co-owned by the city and the county. County supervisors in 2019 agreed to sell the county’s share to the team for a sweetheart price of $85 million. The sale was a horrific deal the county never should have made. It undermined the city’s planning efforts by giving A’s billionaire owner John Fisher veto power over future development of the prime 120-acre property after the team moved out.Now county officials are adding insult to injury by once again coddling up to the team. At issue is whether the A’s are required under the sale terms to immediately make the three final payments.Amazingly, county supervisors never bothered to require that the team s...Cutting-edge affordable homes could sprout in San Jose on vacant lot

SANTA CLARA — Sunday’s NFC matchup between the 49ers (8-3) and the host Eagles (10-1) calls for an extended version of our weekly mailbag after a flood of social media questions:Is it possible for the Niners to get the No. 1 seed? (@thebrendito)It may take “win out” mode, and a veteran starter told me Monday they’ve already adopted that mindset. After all, they won 12 straight last season before their NFC Championship Game trauma in Philly. The 49ers (8-3) are in the No. 2 slot ahead of the Detroit Lions (8-3) by virtue of a better record in NFC games (6-1 vs. 5-2). The Eagles (10-1, 6-0) have a two-game lead, but if they lose their next two to the 49ers and the Cowboys (as one 49er was excited to learn), the 49ers would move into the NFC’s pole position if their win streak remains intact. Losing in Philly would not mathematically eliminate the 49ers from the No. 1 role, but it would make their odds miniscule. We need to get Deebo more touches? (@makrhitesman)His so...Latest news
