Barbecue, also known as BBQ for short, has captivated the taste buds of millions of people across the world; its smell, a quintessential part of backyard parties and long, lazy holiday weekends. This cooking method involves slow cooking and smoking meat over an open flame or heat source. Beyond the slab of baby back ribs and brisket that we're probably familiar with, barbecue has a long history dating back centuries and is rooted in various cultures. The earliest origins of barbecue can be traced back to the Taino people, who were Indigenous to the Caribbean. By the 19th century, the technique became widespread in the American South, primarily using pork. Taino people didn't use the word barbecue. Instead, this method of cooking food over a raised wooden grate was referred to as barbacoa. As time passed, techniques and flavors evolved as a result of colonization, globalization, and advancements in technology. Today, barbecue has become a beloved food all over the world. In the United ...Two die, one person injured, in single-vehicle crash in Highlands Ranch

Bud Black deserves better. He’d never say it, but it’s true.Given a healthy, talented team, Black is a winning manager. He proved it his first two years with the Rockies, getting them to the postseason in 2017 and ’18, the only back-to-back playoff appearances in their lackluster history. The Rockies had a winning road record just three times in their first 30 years, in 2009 under Jim Tracy (41-40) and under Black in ’17 (41-40) and ’18 (44-38). He helped young pitchers such as German Marquez and Kyle Freeland reach their potential. The starters’ ERA in 2018 was 4.17, the second-best in franchise history, trailing only the 2009 rotation (4.10).If owner Dick Monfort and the front office had had the guts, foresight, and skills to add some key players at the trade deadline in ’18, the Rockies would have won the National League West for the first time in franchise history. Q: Your reader referred to the head restraint as a headrest. They are not for comfort, but are an integral part of the restraint system designed to reduce head and neck movement in a collision. Altering the size, or worse, removing it could have serious consequences. She should learn to back up using the three mirrors and camera system installed in most vehicles.Ted Atlas, CampbellA: You’re one of several people concerned about safety issues if a car’s head restraints are changed.Q: Hopefully, when Sue Kayton modified her car’s headrest, she did not increase the risk of whiplash injuries. As for removing headrests on rental cars, this is a bad practice. Even if hit from behind by a slow-moving vehicle, one is still at risk without a headrest. One solution is to increase the viewing area by moving the driver’s seat back as far as possible while still being able to reach the pedals, and moving the passenger seat forward. Also, adjust your mirrors. There are mir...Sharks, newly acquired goalie come to terms on new contract, per report
