A pair of suspects were arrested after stealing lottery tickets from a liquor store in Orange County and leading authorities on a very brief chase, officials said.According to the Seal Beach Police Department, the two suspects, identified only as Zoryon and Marcus of Long Beach, used a crowbar to smash the glass window of West Beach Liquor located in the 400 block of Pacific Coast Highway around 3 a.m. on Tuesday. A patrol car in the area heard the store’s alarm sounding and upon arriving on the scene, located the two suspects fleeing the scene in a black Nissan Altima. After a short chase, the suspects were arrested in the 100 block of Coastline Drive – about a block away – when they drove up a dead-end street. Authorities are investigating after thieves robbed a 24-hour business in El Segundo. According to the El Segundo Police Department, the robbery took place early Thursday morning at a business in the 900 block of Main Street.The suspects entered the business, pointed a handgun at the employee and demanded money, ESPD said. They were able to flee the scene with an unknown amount of cash. Amazon announced Thursday it is rolling out its pay-by-palm services in Whole Foods Market stores across the country, making it possible for customers to use their palms for purchases without a wallet or phone. The palm recognition service, called Amazon One, will be available for payment and Prime membership benefits in all Whole Foods Market locations by the end of this year. Instead of traditional payment methods, Amazon One allows customers to hover their palm over an Amazon One device. Customers who link their Prime membership with their Amazon One profile will also automatically receive savings once their palm is registered, according to the Seattle-based retail giant. PITTSBURG — A man who pulled into a police department parking lot with gunshot wounds and died there has been identified by authorities.Trevon Richardson, 24, of Antioch, was a passenger in a vehicle that pulled into the parking lot of the Pittsburg Police Department about 5:10 p.m. on July 14. Richardson and the driver each had been shot multiple times, police said.Richardson died in the parking lot. The 21-year-old Antioch resident who drove the car was taken by ambulance to a hospital. Police have not provided an update to his condition.Officers found evidence that a shooting had occurred in the 2100 block of Crestview Lane.The homicide is the fourth one this year investigated by Pittsburg police. BRENTWOOD — A 17-year-old who police said attempted to rob another man and wound up dying in a shootout that involved a third person has been identified, authorities said.Brentwood police Lt. Walter O’Grodnick said investigators believe the shot that killed Abel Juarez, of Brentwood, on July 14, appears to have come from a 21-year-old Antioch man that police said Juarez and another man tried to rob.The 20-year-old Walnut Creek man who police say was with Juarez has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, conspiracy, assault with a deadly weapon, false imprisonment, discharging a gun at a vehicle, and carrying a loaded gun in public, authorities said.
