ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany Latin Festival will be returning for its 26th year. The event will be held in Washington Park and is scheduled for August 26. The celebration is dedicated to the promotion of Latino culture and initiatives, committing to the festival's mission of improving appreciation through inclusion. ST. LOUIS – A portion of a major interstate will close in downtown St. Louis starting on Friday, August 11 to Sunday, August 13. All lanes of I-44 to westbound I-70 will be closed from Washington Avenue to the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge.Construction crews are removing scaffolding and installing drainage on the Broadway bridge over the interstate. They expect to close the highway at 9 p.m. Friday and reopen by 5 a.m. Sunday.The detour have drivers exiting at Lumiere Place Boulevard and then continue onto North Broadway. Denver’s local minimum wage for workers will increase to $18.29 an hour starting Jan. 1, up from $17.29, city officials announced Friday morning.For tipped food and beverage workers, the minimum will be $15.27 per hour, as long as workers receive at least $3.02 in tips. A seventh bus from Texas carrying asylum seekers arrived in Los Angeles Friday, organizers said.A total of 49 migrants arrived from Brownsville, Texas, according to the L.A. Welcomes Collective. Two small, aging hotels near Disneyland will likely meet the wrecking ball to make way for larger hotel development.In late June, Sunstone Development purchased the 60-year-old, 24-room Budget Inn located at Disneyland Drive and Ball Road for $12 million, the Orange County Register reports.Last September, Sunstone also acquired the adjacent 44-room Days Inn by Wyndham, which hasn't been renovated in 39 years, for $8.66 million.The company that brokered the Budget Inn deal said Sunstone is exploring “long-term alternative strategies for the site including full-service hotel uses,” according to the O.C. Register.Both existing hotels are located northwest of Disneyland Resort and roughly a half-mile from the west entrance to Downtown Disney.Otto Ozen, an executive with the brokerage group, told the O.C. The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department discovered narcotics in the Morongo Basin Station jail cells on Wednesday, officials said.The station is adjacent to the Joshua Tree Courthouse, and the cells are "routinely used to temporarily house inmates from other county court facilities who are scheduled for court appearances," the SBSD said in a news release. Driver Killed in Solo-Vehicle Accident near Highway 168FRESNO COUNTY, CA (August 4, 2023) – Wednesday night, a solo-car crash on Millerton Road claimed the life of a male driver.The incident happened on August 2nd, at around 5:40 p.m., on Millerton Road near Highway 168.According to reports, the driver, traveling in a Dodge Challenger was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle.
